Eligibility Criteria: 

For candidates demonstrating exceptional performance in prior academic studies and the ability and dedication necessary for continued research at its most advanced stage, resulting in an impressive law or research-focused non-law master’s program in business, political science, or sociology, the program is designed to meet the needs of all applicants.

Required Documents: 

The following documents must be included: a degree, a curriculum vitae in tabular form, a list of all published papers completed so far as optional, an essay proposal of no more than four pages, an explanation of why the student is interested in pursuing a doctoral degree at the Albrecht Mendelssohn-Bartholdy Graduate School, and two faculty recommendations attesting to their ability to do PhD research. 

Admission Requirements: 

The selected candidates will have demonstrated their capacity for high academic achievement, usually through an advanced law degree or a master’s degree that is not focused on legal research. 

Language Requirements: 

Participants whose first language is not English or German must prove their language skills by providing the corresponding certificates.
